MECHANICAL ENGINEERING TECHNICAL MANAGER - Avionics

My client, a manufacturer, located in Central Arizona is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technical Manager responsible for managing the mechanical Engineering team in the development of avionics equipment such as transponders, navigation receivers, antennas etc.

Responsibilities:

• Leads the innovation design of new avionic products by driving continuous improvement improvements of existing products and engineering processes
• Creates process and develops requirement documents
• Develops standard avionic type designs to include LRU enclosures, interconnect, cables, seals, face plates, knobs, etc
• Design-to-Cost and Design-for-Manufacturability
• Develops mechanical/hardware requirements
• Responsible for FEA, thermal, CAD, fluid analysis, material analysis, PCB layouts, packaging
• Manages suppliers effectively
• Manages to schedules and metrics

Job Requirements

BS Mechanical Engineering

15+ years of experience in avionics development

5+ years managing a team

Six Sigma Green Belt

Experience with hardware drawing trees and BOMs

Experience supporting factory build issues

ERP tool experience

Experience in DO-178 and DO-254 engineering and development and test processes a huge plus!
