Job Description

SUMMARY: 

• Using an analytical framework, this role is responsible for reviewing all of the key variables that drive profitability and return on investment for an early stage company deploying breakthrough disruptive technology in a retail setting.
• Reporting to the CFO, manage multiple analysis and responsibilities to influence management decision-making.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

• Work closely with sales and marketing leadership to determine optimal pricing mix for a matrix of related product SKUs.
• Participate in task team to drive product cost reductions from a complex list of raw materials and suppliers.
• Establish profitability targets for product margins and report on monthly volume and mix variances.
• Determine ROI criteria for future capital investment projects.
• Develop comprehensive financial models for deploying capabilities at new retail customer chains including sensitivity analysis over a range of outcomes.
• Research and report on relevant external industry and business activity impacting decision-making.
• Seek out cost saving opportunities driving business efficiency and performance.
• Prepare weekly, monthly and other periodic analysis for dissemination to Executive staff.
• Support quarterly preparation of materials to the Board of Directors.
• Work closely with demand planning staff and subcontract manufacturing operations to understand impacts of proposed changes to tactical plans.

This position requires a standard workweek consisting of office and fieldwork. May require minimum travel to multiple locations, outside the United States.

 

Job Requirements

PREFERRED SKILLS AND PAST EXPERIENCE:

• BA/BS degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering or other Sciences
• MBA preferred
• 5+ years of Experience as a Financial Analyst
• Maturity and skill in defining problems, collecting data and measurements, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions - STRONG ANALYTICAL SKILLS
• Super-user status with Excel modeling, database manipulation, and ability to merge information from demand planning tools
• Ability to successfully work across multiple levels of an organization with experience leading cross-functional analysis
• Strong problem solving abilities, ability to manage multiple priorities and projects while hitting deadlines
• Computer literacy in critical business applications (Microsoft Office -Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Access, Outlook,) leverage appropriate internet data sources
• Positive attitude, excellent communication and organizational skills, collaborative approach and desire to learn are a must
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills are required
• Ability to lead by example and work in a team environment
