Schematics Coordinator at Chandler

Job Description



The Schematic Technician assists in the management of analytical databases and programs while providing support to Category Managers in the review and development of category schematics. This includes assessing schematic assortment performance and making recommended improvements. Also, maintaining new and discontinued item activity and providing reports used in the review process. Interaction and communication with manufacturers and suppliers is necessary.

Some Job Responsibilities Include:



  • Working with Category Managers in implementing schematic concepts.

  • Address SKU rationalization requirements

  • Guide assortment decisions for new and discontinued items

  • Produce pre-defined reports for category reviews

  • Assess the opportunities for schematic updates based on the template diagnostics

  • Understand the Category Managers layout objectives

  • Determine the financial strengths and weaknesses of a particular category

  • Provide recommendations for improvement

  • Develop a schematic that balances space to sales, simplifies replenishment and provides an easy to ship design.

  • Work to implement the correct schematics and versions for appropriate stores

  • Run reports and queries, MS Excel and other software and reporting tools

  • Work in partnership with other department staff members to achieve common goals

  • Following category review timelines

  • Operating AS400 and all its peripheral equipment

  • Taking calls from stores and merchandising team in support of immediate field needs


Ability to:



  • Demonstrate strong communication skills while working with vendors and store management

  • Proactively find solutions to problems

  • Communicate well, verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of members from various organizational departments.

  • Complete tasks and meet responsibilities with little supervision

  • Learn and adapt to new processes, programs, software and equipment

  • Complete tasks within established time frames

  • Use Aldata/Apollo, Microsoft Office applications; Outlook, Excel and Word

  • Read and understand product schematics and shelf tags

  • Comfortably engage in vendor and category manager meetings

  • Safely operate a motor vehicle

  • Use of internet through store computers for information access

  • Lift 40lbs while twisting ones back

  • Sit for long periods of time
