Works with business, BI Team, DBAs, ETL developers, and report developers to deliver comprehensive business-facing BI solutions. -Requirements gathering and analysis, including critical analysis and suggested enhancements versus original request-Interact with business analysts and product analysts-In depth source system analysis, finding who, what, why, and where in a source database often with little assistance-Create dimensional models based not only on the original design, but in anticipation of future needs-Hold logical model reviews with all stakeholders including: business analysts, product owners, ETL developers and modeling team to ensure the model meets the needs-Provide logical data mapping to be used by ETL team for engineering their ETL.-Strong familiarity with the data being populated in the new models in order to assist with quality assurance and serve as the subject matter expert for model-Identify data quality issues and propose solution(s) necessary to fix and prevent the issue-Develop and maintain metadata integration strategy and standards and work with a variety of stakeholders to bring together a wide variety of metadata components to build a comprehensible whole-Work with BA and ETL team to define requirements for Data Quality monitoring and support the design thereof-The position requires a full-time work schedule. Full-time is defined as working at least 40 hours per week, plus any overtime as requested or needed to perform job responsibilities.-Perform all other duties as assigned. Employment Requirements Required Work Experience-4 years of experience with dimensional modeling-5 years of experience with development on Microsoft SQL database platforms-5 years of data analysis experience Required Education-High School Diploma or GED in general field of study Preferred Work Experience-2 years of health insurance business expertise, understanding health insurance business definitions , needs, reporting requirements, data, and data structures-10 years of data analysis experience-4 years of experience modeling dimensional databases as part of an enterprise business intelligence team-4 years of experience in data management, and design, development, and administration of complex databases-4 years experience with MS/SQL and database query / structures based on understanding of underlying data Preferred Education-Bachelors degree in business administration, math, statistics, computer science or related program Preferred Certifications-MCSE: Data Platform; MCSE: Business Intelligence-Kimball Group: Dimensional Modeling in Depth; Kimball Group: Microsoft DW/BI in Depth-TDWI: Certified Business Intelligence Professional (CBIP) Required Job Skills-Strong understanding of structured query language (SQL)-Advanced knowledge of Microsoft SQL server environments-Implement index and partitioning strategies to optimize query performance Required Professional Competencies-Ability to go it alone on a project, learning the ins and outs of the source database with little assistance-Ability to provide out of the box ideas for handling data from multiple companies with different data definitions-Strong writing skills necessary to provide rich comments in the modeled structures-Work well with dimensional modeling focusing on continual improvement of the models.-Interpersonal skills necessary to work across different teams with different personalities focused on customer service and producing an optimal solution-Strong analytical skills to support independent and effective decisions-Strong verbal and written communications skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.-Ability to prioritize tasks and work with multiple priorities, sometimes under limited time constraints-Solid technical ability and problem solving skills-Able to perform conceptual, logical and physical data modeling and design. Our Commitment Company of Arizona does not discriminate in hiring or employment on the basis of race, ethnicity, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, gender, disability, age, covered veteran status or any other protected group.
