Job Description

The Transportation Supervisor will supervise, lead, coordinate and schedule a fleet of company drivers  according to the customers requests in compliance with company rules and DOT regulations.  This position is also responsible for utilization of equipment and staff to maintain efficiency, customer satisfaction and overall operational profitability.

The ideal candidate will have the desire to facilitate change, improve processes, provide a high touch level of service, and excel operationally.  Business will require periodic night and weekend work for training, meetings, and support during high volume times.  FLEXIBILITY WITH SCHEDULE AND AVAILBILITY IS REQUIRED.

Responsibilities:

• Schedule and direct the work activity for a group of drivers and/or yard spotters
• Provide leadership and direction to drivers and other operations staff to include process improvement, team-building, coaching and feedback
• Organize, plan and implement transportation solutions for assigned customers that utilize the best cost option to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction
• Identify and resolve delivery and scheduling issues through timely communication with customers, drivers, vendors and other Ruan locations

Job Requirements

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree plus 2 years of relevant work experience
• Knowledge of DOT and Food Service regulations strongly preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication required as this position has high interaction and visibility with the customer
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite
• Proven leadership skills and management ability required
