Managing Director
BASIC PURPOSE: To be responsible for overall quality and profitability of marketing research data collection in the branch office. Direct all sales, financial and people management efforts in the branch in keeping with company policies and procedures. Maintain a trained and motivated staff to assure the quality service guaranteed to our clients. The above will be accomplished while meeting the branchs operating budget and promoting teamwork.Seek opportunities to interface with clients to promote all Delve facilities. Contact former clients who have not recently placed work in the branch. Work with VP, Sales and management to promote intra-company and Delve sales. Work with clients to assure their project will be done according to their specifications. Work with clients to assure we will deliver a quality project on time. Interpret the specifications promptly and bid all projects accordingly. Be competitive in the marketplace in order to encourage sales, and at the same time maintain a profit as budgeted. Deliver a product that is of the highest quality and maintain a positive working relationship with the client to ensure their confidence in the Managing Director as well as enhance Delves ability to secure future business.Responsible for yearly budget with primary emphasis on operating earnings, sales and gross profit. Responsible for preparing invoice request documents and providing the same to the Financial Group. Review with each supervisor the outcome of his/her project to educate them regarding its profitability. Review monthly financial statements. Exercise the trust and confidence of company management to protect and maintain all property of the branch office. Oversee other financial matters on a daily basis to include petty cash, working fund checks, purchasing, client advances and credits.Oversee the recruiting, hiring, training and developing of employees. Review salary adjustments with emphasis on those employees who contribute the most. Oversee or directly participate in formal employee evaluations with full time and regular part-time people twice annually. Manage and execute motivation programs in order to maintain positive morale, teamwork and retention of employees. Establish trust among direct reports that problems will be recognized and handled in a timely mannerencourage an open door policy. Foster an environment that recognizes the value of the interviewer in the marketing research process. Ensure Delves success by keeping the Regional Vice President informed of and soliciting her/his guidance regarding office progress, problems, and opportunities.Insure that Delve data collection practices adhere to the guidelines of Delve and the Marketing Research Association. Emphasize adherence to corporate guidelines and business ethics. Clearly communicate our companys strategic goals and priorities to your people. Assure that staff members at all levels share the companys commitment to excellence.Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience3+ years experience in supervising projects and people (mid career)Background in managing data collection operations preferredProven office and people management skills
