This job includes performing a wide variety of repairs, maintenance, and documentation responsibilities according to department policies / standards. In the absence of the Plant Operations Manager, the Building Maintenance Technician will oversee daily operations and will be point of contact during this time and for all after hours emergencies. This position will be required to work varied hours, weekends, holidays, including days and evenings in same week. Provides first line of response to facility maintenance needs to assure maximum operational effectiveness of the facility and provides all required and appropriate documentation.
Performs preventive maintenance, monitoring and testing according to department policies / standards on mechanical equipment, medical gas systems, fire alarm systems, and building management system (Metasys)
Performs limited required Life Safety Codes inspections and fire drills according to department policies / standards
This includes but not limited to basic repairs to the following:

• Carpentry - ceiling, walls, floor, painting
• Plumbing - sinks, toilets, drains, valves, filters
• Electrical - lighting, patients beds / recliner chairs, nurse call systems, security systems and phone systems.
• Mechanical - belts, filters, motors, ducts

Job Requirements

Minimum Experience: 3

Preferred Experience:

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Good working knowledge of repairing and maintaining of equipment, preferable healthcare related.

Three years experience in general maintenance duties, preferable healthcare related
