Position is located in the Facilities Management Service Line, an office that provides guidance, control and direction of Facilities Management matters. 

·  Is an active participant in the management of planning, directing and coordinating a full range of secretarial and clerical work and interacts at all levels throughout the Medical Center. 

·  Resolves any problems associated with the secretarial and clerical work of all Facilities Management Units and performs the following duties:

·  Screens calls and visitors, follow-up inquiries are referred to appropriate personnel based on knowledge of programs and/or operations.

·  Receives, stamps, and reviews all incoming correspondence, publications, regulations and directives, which may affect Facilities Management.

·  Responds to requests regarding Facilities Management functions and personally prepares responses from source material.

Work Schedule:  Monday - Friday,  8:00 am to 4:30 pm

Time-in-grade:  Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.

 

Specialized Experience:

Applicants must have One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade (GS-04) in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.  Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:

·  Progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled.  

OR

Applicants may substitute 4 years above high school education for the experience required for the GS-05 level. (Transcripts Required)

OR

Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at the GS-05 level.  To calculate, first identify the percentage of required education you have earned (when substituting, you cannot use the first 60 semester hours that you earned).  Then identify the percentage of required experience you possess.  Add the two percentages.  The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify at the GS-05. For example, an applicant who has 9 semester hours of graduate level education (i.e. 50% of graduate education required) and 6 months of creditable specialized experience (i.e. 50% of the required experience) would equal 100% of the required experience for the position
