The Information Technology Division (ITD) of the Administrative Office of the Courts is seeking a Technical Support Specialist to join our team.


This position provides technical assistance to computer system users for the Arizona Judicial Branch. Essential functions include providing technical support to computer users, including installation of hardware, software, or peripheral equipment, as assigned by the Support Center Coordinator; answering users inquiries regarding computer software and hardware operation to resolve problems; set up of equipment for employee use, performing or ensuring proper installation of cable, operating systems, and appropriate software; performance of mass software upgrades or installations via Altiris Deployment Server; evaluate customer requirements and make recommendations on new software or hardware purchases; conduct training with customers, when necessary, due to installation of new computer hardware, printer, or other peripheral hardware; as well as perform minor repairs to hardware, software, or peripheral equipment, within warranty guidelines.


Travel level: up to 90% (varies - local and statewide)

 Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree plus five years of experience. Related experience may substitute for the degree requirement. In addition, this position requires extensive knowledge of computer networking technology, principles and theories of computer science, hardware and software installation and configuration, and extensive experience in systems development, implementation and project management methodologies. This position also requires a skilled an effective communicator – both oral and written; the ability to multi-task; the ability to quickly and effectively analyze software and hardware programs and implement solutions.


This position requires the ability to lift up to 40 pounds; statewide travel (up to 90%); a valid Arizona Driver’s License; and completion of Department of Administration’s Defensive Driving course is required.


The preferred candidate will have knowledge of: court operations in both limited and general jurisdiction courts; the Arizona Judicial Branch and its entities; court management software applications; circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software. The preferred candidate will have the ability to use a variety of automated software packages such as Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, and other automated productivity aids.
