About This Position
POSITION PURPOSE (position maybe remote)
The Business Analyst - Integration works as a liaison among stakeholders in order to elicit, analyze, communicate, and validate requirements for changes to business processes, policies, and information systems. The Business Analyst understands business problems and opportunities in the context of the requirements and recommends solutions that enable the organization to achieve its goals.
In addition to being accountable to direct line Management, the Business Analyst will be accountable to and take direction from the VP, IT Clinical improvement. The Business Analyst will directly interface with ITs internal customers at the Manager and Director levels.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Assesses and interprets business and user needs and requirements and translates specific portions of business requirements into system requirements, revising existing system logic difficulties as necessary.
Formulating and defining requirements, design, testing, implementation, training, and support through research and fact-finding, combined with a basic understanding of business systems and business unit requirements.
Researches the impact of alternatives and assists in developing recommendations on business solutions to meet stated objectives and goals as they relate to EHR and integration technologies.
Assists in the implementation and ongoing support of clinical applications and systems necessary for business operations.
Acts as liaison between systems development staff, management and system end-users.
Defines and manages the scope of a business solution to meet the goals of the organization.
Supports production and development activities at the site.
Serves as a resource to others.
QUALIFICATIONS
Academic:
Bachelors degree or equivalent professional experience required.
Bachelors degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field preferred.
Experience:
2+ years of information systems experience.
3+ years experience in systems design and analysis, business clinical operations workflow design and implementation, systems QA testing and/or business systems training.
3+ years experience working in a healthcare
3+ years experience with HL7 Interfaces and data exchange between clinical systems
3+ years experience in clinical workflow and hospital clinical applications
Experience with Quadramed CPR, Cerner Millennium and/or Meditech preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Understands and employs fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures relating to systems analysis and design and integration.
Knowledge of business operations and in-house business systems required.
Ability to understand IT projects and concepts as they relate to high-level business objectives, and ability to present those concepts to both IT and non-IT audiences in a concise and easily understandable manner.
Possesses a structured, process-oriented, problem solving mentality.
Strong knowledge of MS programs e.g. Word, Excel
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required.
Possess thorough understanding of business analysis techniques and tools as they relate to revenue cycle applications.
Identification with and support of the Mission and Values of Catholic Healthcare West and its Sponsors.
Strong communication skills (written and verbal) for information gathering and the ability to interact with various client groups.
Ability to work in a complex and matrixed team environment.
Ability to handle multiple tasks, set priorities, schedule and meet deadlines.
Skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio.
Thorough knowledge of reading and developing HL7 design specificationand HL7 transactions
Ability to independently troubleshoot HL7 interfaces
iBus experience helpful
