POSITION PURPOSE:This position is responsible for the development, administration, and operation of software and hardware systems used as part of the  SOA initiative. This includes, but is not limited to, implementing end to end transactional monitoring infrastructure and software; creating and applying run-time governance policies; ensuring QoS and SLAs are met through the use of monitoring, run time quotas, and throttling; participating in troubleshooting of complex multi-team, multi-component SOA based systems; detecting and helping mitigate security risks; proactively identifying performance bottlenecks or system performance degradation. This position works closely with server administration, networking, developers, QA, release management, and enterprise architecture.Principal Duties and Responsibilities:  § Design, implement, and operate software and hardware systems that monitor and report on shared enterprise resources, especially web services, ESBs, and related assets.§ Create and apply run time policies in both hardware and software SOA management resources.§ Work with server, network, and security teams to use SOA tooling to help enforce a multi-layered security, message routing, and monitoring program.§ Work with development and server teams to integrate SOA monitoring with an overall enterprise monitoring capability.§ Compile statistics, perform analytics on historically logged data, and report out trends, capacities, SOA performance in the form of dashboards, reports, and presentations.§ Assist with troubleshooting multi-component, multi-team applications, with a particular emphasis on system health and response times and identifying misbehaving components of large solutions.§ Provide appropriate reporting and documentation to aid understanding of the overall system, and identify risks and potential problems.§ 24/7 support responsibilities required.§ Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: § Undergraduate degree in CS/CE/CIS/MIS/Engineering/Technology a related field or equivalent experience and or training. § 10+years of experience in a large IT organization.§ 5+years of experience as a software developer OR network/server administrator.§ 5+ years of experience developing or supporting high volume web services in an enterprise and B2B scenario.§ 3+ years of experience monitoring applications and IT systems§ 3+ years of experience working in a .NET, TFS, WCF application environment§ 2+ years of experience modeling complex systems to the web method level, including physical, logical, and data flow views.§ Experience implementing or supporting SOA related technologies from SOA Software, Software AG, HP, IBM, or similar.§ Experience in configuring monitors, alerts, dashboards and reports with IBM DataPower XML Appliances.§ Strong knowledge of web service technologies from a developer and networking perspective.§ Strong knowledge of networking concepts.§ Strong knowledge of SOA principles and concepts.§ Strong knowledge of information security principles and countermeasures.§ Strong ability to troubleshoot complex systems.§ Proficient in MS Office applications. § Airline experience - a plus
