Responsibilities
-Administer care to consumers in accordance with established plans of care.*
-Provide consumers with proper body mechanics consistently in accordance with training procedures, transfers and ambulates consumer in a safe manner (beds, baths, wheelchairs, vehicles, dressing and grooming).*
-Administer medication under the written direction of physician, psychiatrist or specialist.* -Perform housekeeping to ensure a clean, orderly working environment for next Caregiver shift, at the end of each shift.*-Perform a “handover" exchange of information regarding the status of each consumer, reviews of notes, convey messages and memos to be updated by outgoing Caregiver and follow procedures.*
-Accompany consumers to medical appointments and daily activities.*-Care for consumers by changing bed linens, washing, ironing laundry, cleaning and assisting with their personal care.*
-Report any significant consumer changes.*-Entertain, converse with, or read aloud to consumers to keep them mentally healthy and alert.*
-Participate in educational programs as required.*-Prepare meals according to prescribed diets, followed by clean up.*-Maintain confidentiality of all consumers’ information in accordance with procedures.*-Demonstrate excellent oral, written and electronic communication. Ensure the coordination of information and confidentiality of communications within the company.*-Must completely fill out medical sheets, programs, activity log and progress notes at every shift.*
Requirements
- Must be 21+ years of age or older.
- High School Diploma or GED Preferred
- 6 weeks of full time behavioral health work experience.
- Valid AZ driver’s license with driving record that meets VEMA standards.
- Successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen, fingerprint clearance and background check.
