Citrix / Web IT Administrator

The IT - Citrix/Web Administrator is responsible for Enterprise Citrix infrastructure deploying, building, maintaining, and troubleshooting XenAPP, XenServer, and XenDesktop. Installing upgrades and monitoring system performance and availability. Heavy focus on Citrix infrastructure and projects dealing with XenAPP, XenDesktop Virtual Desktop Infrastructure. Knowledge of Citrix Web Interface, site configuration and troubleshooting configuring and maintaining Citrix Access Gateways. Job role includes Citrix farm creation and management, Citrix and web server rollouts, remote application installation and management, and user support and troubleshooting. Provides on-call 24 x 7 support on a rotating basis.. Candidate should also possess some experience with terminal service application and support. 1.  Design, install, maintain, administer, and support JCLHN Citrix remote and Web support services.-  Effectively maintain the Citrix network infrastructure through all lifecycles including design, installation, maintenance, administration and support.-  Participate, under direction, in the design, selection and implementation of Citrix infrastructure hardware and logical design.  This will include working with users, vendors, and other Network Services staff.-  Work in conjunction with the network infrastructure team to ensure network standards are maintained and security is enforced.-  Responsible for working and updating customer problems/inquiries via the current Work Order system.-  Responsible for resolving customer problems according to the Problem Management Guidelines/Severity Definitions/Service Level Agreements. 2.  Develop, document, and maintain standards for Citrix Network Infrastructure and remote web support.-  Continuously monitor and rectify/update standard documentation as needed to ensure compliance to standards.-  Ensure Citrix and web server farm are kept up to date on security patching to meet standards.-  All networking components will be continuously monitored, both physically and electronically to ensure compliance to standards. 3.  Technical administration and continuous improvement.-  Actively participate in technical systems evaluation & design and process development with other members of the team.-  Provides input into other team members strategic initiatives, technical solutions & designs and process improvement proposals.-  Supports and promotes team objectives through effective dialogue with other members of the team.-  Administer Citrix and web servers within the JCLHN network.-  Serves as backup technician responsible for all lifecycle phases of the Citrix and web server farm. 4.  Effectively communicate and support strategic initiatives of both immediate and greater IT team.-  Openly communicates with team members and manager about priorities, status, etc.-  Anticipates risk related to their domain of expertise and effectively communicates that risk to leadership.-  Supports and helps advance the initiatives, policies, procedures and strategic direction of both their immediate team and the greater IT team. 5.  Performs other duties as assigned.-  Executes ad-hoc requests both within and without their domains of expertise.-  Assists other team members with their domains of expertise as necessary.-  Adequately fulfills on-call duties on a rotating basis. Qualifications:-  Associates degree with at least 2 year- 4 years related experience working with Citrix design, implementation and administration coupled with some experience with terminal service application and support .
